A Great Saturday Morning...

Today, I spent my saturday morning downtown again helping "Food For Thoughts". I took some of my kids and we helped with giving meals out at the bus stops. This starts around 10am. Today, I met this man named Robert. Robert was helping us hand out food. I guess he has helped out before. It was kind of funny, we were walking around handing out meals and I was talking about "Food For Thoughts" and he wanted to know what that was. "It's what were doing right now, what are you doing just coming along for the ride", I said. He laught and thought that was the funniest thing ever. We Chatted a little more during our walk of handing food out and at the end they gave Robert a few extra lunches for helping us out.I was a little sad because Dave wasn't there today. I wanted to learn a little more about his story and make sure he got some food. I hope that he is doing ok. John from my New Believer's group came out to help. That was awesome! I think he really enjoyed helping out there and meeting new people. The weather was beautiful... we got to enjoy a little bit of the sunshine. I also helped out "The Hotdog Guy", that's what I call him because every weekend he cooks up a bunch of hot dogs and hands them out. He's not part of "Food For Thought", he just does his own thing which is really neat. So, I like to go over and help him out. You should see the line he gets. I would say...there's about 100 or more people that stand in line for his hot dogs. I was the ketchup and mustard girl. Everyone that came up to me I would try and figure out if they were a ketchup person, a mustard person or both. I got a few right but not too many. We had a really great morning. This weekend will be a pretty busy weekend. We have 3 cook outs to go to, which should make for a pretty good Memorial weekend.
