Sitting on the Porch

Today,while working at the new house, we got to take some time out to enjoy our huge front porch, the weather and friends. It was such a simple thing that made us so excited. A friend of ours rode his bike over and stopped to have lunch with us. We've live out in the county for about 7 years and never knew we would miss having sidewalks and neighbors. Our new house is right in the middle of everything. We can't wait to be where God wants us to be. Chuck and I have searched for a while to find a church that was perfect for our family. The funny thing is we thought "WE" found the perfect church. Meanwhile, God had his own plan. Church was forming all around us with the people we did "LIFE" with. Church was right in front of us becoming bigger and stronger. Teaching us to love on one another. To support and uplift. To love our neighbor as ourself. To serve the poor and see people through God's eyes. These last few months we have truly realized what it means to be part of a church and why God wants us to love one another as ourselves. It's not about the building. It's about the love that we have for one another and what we do with it to make a better world. Thank you God for having another plan and letting me realize how truly blessed we are.
